My Favorite Books from 2014 | Faithful Provisions

My Favorite Books From 2014

It has been quite a while since I have shared my favorite reads with you. If you follow me on Instagram you have probably seen all the different books I have been enjoying. I absolutely love to read and wish I had more hours in the day to do it, but I take every chance I get. Many of you ask me how in the world I find time to read. Well, if I forgo watching shows in the evening, then I have plenty of time to catchup on my reading list!

This year held a lot of great reads for me, but these were the ones that really rose to the top, that I would recommend to someone asking for a good book to read. You can go here to see some other books I read, but these were definitely my favorites! What about you, what were your favorite books this year? I would love more recommendations on books you have read recently!

The Hiding Place | Faithful Provisions

The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom

The Hiding Place – This might be my favorite one yet. I held off on this book for so long because I studied The Holocaust in college and it just depressed me.  However, I was so pleasantly surprised by how uplifting this book was! I am reading her sequel Tramp for the Lord and I might like it even better!

Letting Go of Perfect | Faithful Provisions

Letting Go of Perfect by Amy Spiegel

Letting Go of Perfect – This was a great reminder of how life does not need to go the way my view schedules it out!

Growing Up Duggar | Faithful Provisions

Growing Up Duggar by Jana, Jill, Jess and Jinger Duggar

Growing up Duggar – My daughter and I have been reading this aloud and it is a wonderful character building book. She really loves and respects the Duggar girls, so it has been wonderful to use this book as a tool to encourage her in her character.

Flight to Eden | Faithful Provisions

The Cradleland Chronicles by Douglas Hirt

The Cradleland Chronicles – I absolutely LOVED this fiction read! There are 3 books in the series and they are all fantastic reads. The series is based on what life was like after the fall of Eden. It’s very scriptural based, but it dives into how things could have been on an every day basis. Definitely a must-read if you love pre-flood reads.

Raising a Princess | Faithful Provisions

Raising a Princess by John Croyle

Raising a Princess – After I read this my husband picked it up and loved it just as much as I did. I got to hear John Croyle speak at DotMom a few years back and have been a fan ever since. Be sure to read this if you have a daughter.

Small Town, Big Miracle | Faithful Provisions

Small Town, Big Miracle by W.C. Martin

Small Town, Big Miracle – I got to hear Bishop W. C. Martin speak at the Christian Alliance for Orphans conference a few years ago. His story of adoption and foster care in their small town of Possom Trot, Texas is wonderful.

I also greatly enjoyed these books and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good read!

Raising a Princess and Growing up Duggar look like great books I would enjoy reading, and my daughter too. Thanks for sharing them.

That is a great list! One of my favorite books we read to our kids was Nephilim the Remnants. It is a Christian fiction fantasy with biblical perspective and my kids enjoyed the action and the fun our reading time brought us together 🙂
