I love playing my favorite Christmas music this time of year, and I am loving hearing my little ones sing along. There are so many great songs to serve as the soundtrack for your own special Christmas celebration. The ones I have listed here are my personal favorites. I’m actually always coming up with new favorites, too.
Ring the Bells – This is my absolute favorite. This album is done by my church here in Franklin. Our congregation is filled with Christian recording artists, including Cheri Keagy, Erin O’Donnell, Geoff Moore, and more. And the best part? 100% of the proceeds go to African missions!
Peace on Earth – I love Casting Crowns, and this is a great Christmas album (pictured at top of post). It’s got some of the beautiful Christmas classics (O Come All Ye Faithful, Away in a Manger) as well as some new Christmas songs. You’ll love, “While You Were Sleeping.”
All Time Christmas Favorites, Vol. 1 — This is the old stuff, the classic sounds I grew up with!
Here are some more of my favorites:
- Mary Did You Know – Mark Lowery
- Bethlehem – by Kari Jobe
- Christmas – Francesa Battistelli
- Christmas Songs — Jars of Clay
- The Christmas Attic — Trans-Siberian Orchestra. This has that gorgeous song “Christmas Canon” on it.
What’s your favorite Christmas song or album? I’d love to add a few more great songs to my collection. I’ve finally joined all of you in the 21st century and figured out how to connect my stereo to my iPad and my iPhone. Oh how wonderful it is!
Dave Barnes- A Very Merry Christmas
I got this CD last year and secretly listen to it all year round 🙂 It is that good!! Check it out and he is putting on a Christmas show at TPAC on 12/15/12.
One of the beautiful albums you will ever find is, “Behold the Lamb of God” by Andrew Peterson. It tells the story of Christ from the Old Testament to the New Testament. They perform it at the Ryman every year and it is one of the highlights of our entire year. SO unbelievably worshipful and creative.
Our son, Austin, sang with the Chattanooga Boys Choir when they recorded the background vocal for “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day”. They did such a marvelous job and it was an honor for us to be part of the wonderful ministry of the band Casting Crowns. They truly love the LORD.
Andrew Peterson has such a heart for God! I love his music, especially this album. I saw him in concert 6 years ago and loved it!
I ditto, “Behold the Lamb of God” by Andrew Peterson! IT”S AMAZING! It is a journey from Genesis throughout the entire Bible revealing JESUS! I just wrote a summary about it over the weekend for those who are unfamiliar with it. It’s one of our favorite Christmas traditions to go to the live concert at the Ryman! http://suzanneshares.com/2012/11/30/christmas-traditions-behold-the-lamb-of-god-cd-better-yet-go-to-the-concert/
my song is feliz navidad
