Operation Christmas Child Pictures from Ecuador

These are my personal Operation Christmas Child pictures from Ecuador, taken when I traveled with Samaritan’s Purse to distribute the Christmas shoeboxes there last February. From my pictures, it will be easy for you to see why filling the shoeboxes is going to be completely different for me this year.

:: Plan on filling a box and having it ready by this year’s National Collection Week.

“Our outreach to these children and their families may begin with a shoe box gift, but our ultimate goal is to open doors to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and to open hearts to receive Him as Lord and Savior.” ~Franklin Graham, CEO and President of the international Christian relief organization Samaritan’s Purse

I wrote several posts and devotionals during my journey of taking the mission trip and then sorting through my experiences once I got home. Several titles are listed below. You can find them all HERE.

Wow, can you imagine waiting on that BIG GREEN bus to come to your village?! What an inspiration and life-changing experience. Thanks for sharing the video. It’s beautiful.

I just watched this video and sobbed, how amazing. I wondered, how did you find out a way to join their team? I went on a 12 day mission trip over 2 years ago, traveled to Medellin, Colombia to work and serve street children and it was absolutely a life-changing experience. I hope you get to go again sometime in the future. I’d love to see a blog post with a list of really practical things to put in the boxes beside the old standbys and what’s suggested on the OCC website. One year my kids and I did a musical theme, so along with shoes and hard candy we include musical items that did not require batteries of any sort. We always try to put things in there that will have a long life, no battery powered anything…I’m thinking they won’t necessarily have the means to go buy batteries. I love doing this activity with my kids every year.
