Father’s Day Desserts
When it comes to desserts, every man has his favorite—and on Father’s Day, that’s what he deserves! My husband loves Derby Pie, and my dad love ice cream, so I’m going to make what pleases them most. Both these desserts actually give me a lot of options, however.
Derby Pie is a great recipe to make with the kids. There is something almost every age can do. When you’re getting the kids involved in the kitchen, especially making something for Dad, they are going to love it.
Let little ones count the chocolate chips you put in this recipe, then while the pie bakes, have a guessing game with Dad. Kids can lead him to the right number of chips by telling him “higher” or “lower” with each guess.
Make your own whipped cream as a topping. Kids can help keep the mixer going as they wait for the peaks to form in this all natural recipe that’s perfect for topping any pie.

If your dad loves ice cream like mine does, create a fun Sundae bar to let him top it any way he chooses.

- Peanut Butter cookies
- Sprinkles
- Chocolate Syrup (or try my homemade chocolate gravy! Num num!)
- Fresh Strawberry sauce recipe
- Nuts
- Shredded Coconut
- Granola
- Fruit for making a banana split: Bananas, cherries, strawberries, blueberries
Since Father’s Day falls during the summer season, Father’s Day desserts have all sorts of healthier, fruity options that seem just as indulgent when you choose them with care.
